What lands on the bench

An eighteen-piece 125 mm (4.92 in) polishing set with eight foam pads and an M10 drill adapter.

Why 125 mm (4.92 in) is the sensible default

It is the most common backing plate diameter on dual action polishers, which means these pads fit most machines without an adapter. Buying pads to fit the machine is easier than the reverse.

What the drill adapter adds

Small-area work without a second set of pads. It is not a substitute for a polisher on a panel, and it is genuinely useful on a headlight.

The habit that matters more than the set

Two pads minimum in the grade you use, and clean them between panels.

The questions that reach us

What thread does my polisher use?

M14 is the most common on European polishers; M10 is common on smaller machines and adapters. The set includes an M10 drill adapter, which is a different thing from the machine thread — check both.

How many pads do I need for one car?

At least two of the grade you use most, so one can be cleaned while the other works. A saturated pad stops cutting and starts marring, and swapping is the cure.
