What lands on the bench

A 22-piece 125 mm (4.92 in) polishing set with eight foam pads and wool pads, intended for cordless drills and small polishers.

Where quantity is genuinely the right buy

Pads are consumables. Once you know which grade you use, buying several is cheaper than buying graded sets repeatedly — and this is the set with the most in the box.

The wool pads

Fast cutting, hazy finish. They belong at the start of a correction on hard paint and never at the end.

What you give up

Published densities. If you are still learning the sequence, the graded set elsewhere in this hub teaches it better.

The questions that reach us

When is a wool pad the right choice?

On hard clear coats that foam will not correct, and on heavy defects. It cuts fast and leaves haze that then has to be polished out — it is a first step, never a last one.

Do pads wear out or just get dirty?

Both. Foam breaks down with heat and use, and a pad whose face has gone hard no longer conforms to the panel. Cleaning extends life; nothing prevents the end of it.
