The questions that reach us

What does "copper equivalent" mean?

That the aluminum conductor has been sized to carry what 25 mm (0.98 in)² of copper would. It is a legitimate way to describe an aluminum cable and it is not the same as a measured copper section — worth knowing when comparing with copper leads.

Why is the diesel figure lower?

Because a diesel needs more starting current for its capacity: higher compression, heavier starter. Leads that quote both figures are telling you where the honest limit is.
