The last word Three voltages and three tests for the price of a tank of fuel. The manual is the weak point, not the tool.
What lands on the bench
A clamp-on tester with a display, covering 6, 12 and 24 V, and offering three separate tests: the battery itself, the cranking event, and the charging system.
Why the three tests matter together
A battery reading alone answers half a question. Cranking shows what happens under real load, and charging shows whether the alternator has been putting anything back — which is often why the battery is flat in the first place.
The number you have to get right
The CCA rating, entered by you from the battery label. It is the reference the tool compares against, and it is the one input that decides whether the verdict means anything.
What is stated and what is not
The maker states voltage ranges, CCA entry range and capacity range. It does not state a measurement accuracy, which is normal at this price and worth knowing.

What it does, and what it misses
Strengths
24 V support brings vans and light trucks into range, which most testers at this price do not
Cranking and charging tests, so a no-start can be narrowed rather than guessed
A stated capacity range in amp-hours as well as CCA
Compromises
The German manual is stated as available on request rather than in the box
The CCA figure has to be entered correctly — the reading is only as good as what you type
Conductance estimate, not a load test

The questions that reach us
Why does it ask for a CCA value?
Because it estimates state of health by comparing measured conductance against the rating the battery was sold with. Enter a figure that is too low and a tired battery passes; too high and a healthy one fails.
What is a cranking test?
It watches voltage while the engine turns over. A battery that reads well at rest and collapses under cranking load is the classic case a static reading misses.

12 V starter batteries · LED indicators, no display · color-coded clamps · no settings to enter
The simplest tester on this shelf: colored LEDs rather than a screen, no figures to enter, and a verdict a driver can read without knowing what CCA means.
Best for: A driver who wants a yes-or-no answer before calling anyone.
6/12 V · 100–2000 CCA · flooded, AGM flat plate and more · color LCD · alloy clamps
The tester that names the chemistries it supports and reports internal resistance alongside voltage — the two things that separate a diagnosis from a light.
Best for: Someone who wants the underlying numbers rather than a pass or fail.
