What lands on the bench

A calibrated compressed-air tire inflator gun reading 0 to 10 bar, of stated European manufacture, with a rubber-shrouded gauge.

What calibration buys

Traceability. A calibrated instrument has been checked against a reference, which is what allows a reading to be quoted rather than merely used. For a home garage that is unnecessary; for anyone setting pressures on other people’s cars it is the difference.

What it does not buy

Permanence. Calibration drifts with use and with knocks, and a shrouded gauge is protected rather than immune.

The practical alternative

Any decent gauge, checked against a second one. That catches drift without a calibration certificate.

The questions that reach us

What does "calibrated" mean here?

That the instrument was verified against a reference before sale. It is the strongest claim on this shelf, and like every calibration it has a shelf life — instruments drift, and re-verification is a service rather than a purchase.

Do I need this for a car?

No. A €10 gauge sets a tire correctly. This is for someone who has to be able to say what the pressure was, which is a different requirement.
