The last word The second torque wrench, and the one that prevents the expensive mistakes.
What lands on the bench
A 3/8 inch click wrench from 5 to 60 Nm in 0.5 Nm steps, with a 27-piece bit and adapter set.
Where low torque matters most
Aluminum and plastic. A sensor into an alloy housing, a plastic engine cover, a bracket into a casting — these are the fasteners that strip, and their values sit well under 60 Nm where a wheel-range wrench cannot reach.
Why the increment is a specification
Half a newton-meter at 12 Nm is four per cent of the value. At 200 Nm it is nothing. A fine increment is what makes a low-range wrench usable rather than nominal.
Where the number comes from
The vehicle manufacturer, per fastener. That is true at 10 Nm exactly as it is at 120.

What it does, and what it misses
Strengths
Half-newton increments, which matter when a value is 12 Nm rather than 120
Torx and spline bits included — the patterns modern cars actually use
The range covers most engine-bay and interior fasteners, where over-tightening does real damage
Compromises
Will not do wheel bolts — the range stops at 60 Nm
No stated accuracy percentage
A bit-driven wrench is less rigid than a socket-driven one

The questions that reach us
Why do I need a low-range wrench?
Because most damage from over-tightening happens at low values: a 10 Nm bolt into an aluminum housing strips at 20. A wheel-range wrench cannot measure that at all — it is below its scale.
Do I need both ranges?
If you work beyond wheels, yes. A 5–60 Nm and a 28–210 Nm wrench together cover almost everything on a car, and each is accurate where the other is not.
