The coupler. A four-jaw coupler grips a nipple until pressure rises and then lets go, spraying grease. A locking coupler stays put and releases when you decide — it costs a few dollars and it is the difference between greasing things and giving up on it.
400 g (14.1 oz) is the common European size, which means refills are available anywhere.

Rarely. It describes what the gun can generate, not what reaches the fitting. The coupler blows off long before that pressure is achieved, which is why the coupler is the part worth upgrading.
A rigid tube is faster and needs the nipple to be accessible in line; a hose reaches round corners at the cost of a little pressure and a second hand. Having both is the reason to choose a set like this.
