DHA diesel compression tester set review
The diesel kit, and the reason a petrol tester cannot be used on a diesel: 70 bar rather than 20, with injector and glow plug adapters instead of spark plug threads.
The last word Not an upgrade on the petrol kits — a different tool for a different engine.
What lands on the bench
A 0–70 bar gauge with a rotating quick coupler, a release valve and a set of adapters for injector and glow plug ports.
Why diesel needs its own tool
Compression ratios are far higher, and pressures with them. A petrol gauge reading to 20 bar is not merely inaccurate on a diesel — it is off the scale. And there is no spark plug hole to screw into: the connection is made where an injector or glow plug was.
The two features that make it usable
The release valve, which lets you take a second reading on the same cylinder without breaking the connection, and the rotating coupler, which lets an adapter be tightened deep in a head while the hose stays put.
Where the reading is interpreted
In the engine manufacturer’s documentation, which publishes both the expected pressure and the permitted difference between cylinders. This page describes the tool.

What it does, and what it misses
Strengths
The only kit here that can be used on a diesel at all — the range is three times a petrol gauge
Built-in release valve, so repeated readings on the same cylinder do not mean unscrewing anything
Rotating coupler, which matters when the adapter is deep in a head
Compromises
Diesel only, so a household with both engines needs two kits
The 17 pieces include adapters that will never fit your engine
No stated accuracy

The questions that reach us
Can I use a petrol tester on a diesel?
No. Diesel compression pressures are far above a 20 bar gauge, and the connection is made through an injector or glow plug port rather than a spark plug thread. The two kits are not interchangeable in either direction.
How do I know which adapter fits?
By the port you are removing — injector or glow plug — and its thread. That is per engine, and the workshop manual for the vehicle is where it is published.

Who should pick this one, among garage tools
A diesel car, van or tractor — where a petrol gauge would read off the top of its scale.

The workshop-brand version: an analog dial with three scales, an adapter hose and a rubber cone tube, from a maker whose catalog numbers mean something.
